Problem:
The evolution of Instant and Inclusive Payment Systems (IIPS) in Africa has been uneven, reflecting diverse country contexts in consumer behaviour, policy frameworks, technology and infrastructure. However, limited demand-side evidence constrains effective system design and policy responses.

Solution/Outcome:
The study provides comprehensive demand-side insights covering user behaviours, needs, and barriers to inform more inclusive, user-centred payment systems across Africa. The report also provided forward-looking perspectives on IIPS development, demonstrating deep ecosystem-level expertise in instant payments and considerations for building sustainable digital public infrastructures (DPI) for Africa.
